Update 09/13/05: Until further notice, I cannot take any requests. My computer exploded earlier today. My harddrive, and all Japanese files on it, are assumed to be intact as they were far from the blast point which was at the base of the processor. However, these files exist only on that harddrive. Until I repair my computer, I have no access to my character files. I can answer questions but that's about it. Sorry all.

Welcome to my Japanese page! I am the Nikko no Daitenshi (Archangel of Nikko). Nikko (which means "sunshine") is a gorgeous and enchanting park high in the mountains of Japan with beautiful waterfalls and many ancient Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines. It has to be seen to be believed.

Update 08/24/05: The Kanji section is now in progress. It will contain two parts. First, a list of the 1,945 most commonly used individual Kanji with names, meanings, and some compounds. Second, a browsable list of previously requested characters in black and white. This section will be of interest mainly to those looking for a tattoo, those interested in learning the language, and those who want to take a character and play with it themselves rather than requesting a custom background.

I must stress this however. After these lists are ready, unless you know what you're doing with the language, email me before you get a tattoo!!! Remember the true story of the girl who was born in the Year of the Rooster and got "chicken" tattooed on her only to find out that "chicken" is slang for "prostitute" in China!!! Not to mention the fact that as Japanese is a language, it has a dynamic and structure all it's own. Know what it actually says before you get inked!!!! Be smart people, please. I will take NO responsibility for you getting a tattoo that is not what you actually wanted.

Update 04/29/04: My page now consists of three sections. The first is made up of tables of Japanese letters and characters. Right now, only the Katakana and Hiragana tables are ready and available. The other two sections are Tiled backgrounds and Bordered backgrounds, made by me using Japanese characters and letters. Contained on these pages are previous background requests as well as whatever I've had time to make.

I would like to eventually have full wallpapers, 800x600 size and bigger, as well as full websets. I also want to put up pictures of my trip to Nikko National Park, as soon as I get them scanned. Hopefully someday I'll finish my language section, a course in learning the basics of the Japanese language. My friend Callista has a Japanese Language page at her website, Callista's Universe: Callista's Japanese Lessons. I would highly recommend you read that page!!

The only cost for using a wallpaper on your site is that on every page where you use the wallpaper, set one of my link buttons linking back to my site and somewhere else on your site mention where you got the background as well. I would prefer that you save the button onto your site rather than linking back to the buttons here. Tripod won't let you do that anyway. Here are the buttons I have currently.

The Japanese Character wallpaper is done by me, Nikko no Daitenshi, using Photoshop 7.0. Please link back to me with one of the provided buttons if you use any of them. The characters used to make the wallpaper come from the Microsoft Windows XP Japanese fonts and various other Japanese unicode fonts I have found around the internet. As I am not selling these images, I see no problem in sharing them.

If you believe an image on here belongs to you, please inform me.
